Toia te waka o te mätauranga  mä wai e tö?

Mäku e tömäu e tö mä te whakarongo ake e tö

Haul the canoe of education who should haul it ?

I should you should all within calling distance should haul this canoe.

I am so proud of my products - they work. They work because in desperation - as a classroom teacher of 37 students ranging from 7 years old to 12 years old and also as a teachers training college tutor teaching the Maori component of the Bachelor of Education degree where little or no Maori was spoken - I spent endless hours putting together resources to help teach my Maori Culture in a fun,  positive and informative way.

Poi are a fun way in which to implement Maori into your programme. On my site htpp://teaocreations.weebly.com I have put together varying teaching packs and gift kits with manuals for convenience. I often reflect upon my students and the sheer joy they found in learning the poi.

Titi torea are Maori throwing sticks - an age old game performed to the beat of Maori song - sticks are tapped, thrown and manipulated in a sequence of moves with between two to four players facing each other. This game provides a tonne of entertainment for the whole family and my two year old, my thirteen year old, my husband and I all still play this game together (our 5 month old watches in delight and hums to the music).

I offer beautiful adorned flax kits which house four poi and four titi torea along with an audio cd and teaching manuals on my website http://teaocreations.weebly.com

My items are unlike the nass produced poi and ti rakau on offer. Each is handcrafted from NZ sourced and owned products. Buy poi from me and you are guaranteed a lifetime replacement service.

I have an educators pack on offer SEVEN manuals covering different aspects of the Maori Culture - poi, tititorea, games, instruments, legends, weaving - SEVEN manuals filled with teaching ideas, class discussion points, photos, instructions, diagrams, activities and lessons - also EASY to use Maori directives for beginners, Maori blessings and traditions/beliefs - a wealth of knowledge for classroom teachers.

It also comes with a maori bull roarer, maoriflute, string game, board game, cd and legends

My  Maori teaching resource is suitable for all ages and is a great gift to present to educators, teacher trainees and schools - even families would benefit from this pack as there are so many activities to keep young minds busy and entertained.
